I dont excercise much, ok not at all. I have lost weight due to diet, but i need to tone up. I got a video "kickboxing for dummies" and it seems pretty fun. Is it good for you? Will it work or am I wasting my time?

Yes! Kickboxing is a great cardiovascular workout. If you are trying to lose weight and get healthy there is unfortunately no easy way or magic pill that will do it for you. Diet and exercise is the only long-term, successful way to drop pounds. Eat less calories than you burn, and stay active. The recommended safe range of weight loss is 1 -2 pounds a week. If you drop significantly more than that, your body will think you are starving and hold onto the fat stores you have making weight loss difficult. Remember, there are 3,500 calories in a pound so immediate results won't be seen by you or others right away but don't be discouraged. You will feel the difference in your body before others will see it. Just keep it up and you're hard work will pay off! Good luck!

Go for it! Nothing's more empowering than getting in shape while learning how to unmake the shapes of others. As an added bit of training, you should get a hackysack and practice your eye-foot coordination and balance. These skills learned by your very muscles... "muscle memory" they call it, and can't be unlearned, even after amnesia. The kinds of last ditch effort kicks to keep the hackysack going sometimes look spectacularly impressive. Hackysack is a slacker sport with a big group, but kicking by yourself can feel just as exhausting as sprinting after a few minutes.

Yes - I take Kickboxing at my gym. It's an excellent way to work your entire body. Cardio is good for burning fat. Just make sure your form is good and you'll also find that you build lean muscle.
Good luck and have fun. :-)
