Sorry, Spanky, but God is neither necessary nor explanatory for any of the things I've mentioned. Belief in God, to me, just muddies the waters and makes us lose focus.

All of these things that you mention are beautiful, but the thing to keep in mind is that God is the one who created all the things that we see and all that we do not see.

The mere statistics helps show that God is improbable! If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then I say that the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable. The fact that there are tens of billions more stars in our galaxy than there are humans on the Earth was not known by those that created religion.

They have no awe and wonderment at the Universe. They have have no awe and wonderment at Humanity. They have no love of life, for its own sake.

They care for these things ONLY because they care for their God. Without their God, they feel no love, respect, joy, or wonder from Life, or their fellow Man.

when i look at photos like those, or photos taken of microscopic images, or even the simple sunrise of a new day, it just blows me away to think about how incredible God is to have created it all and set it into motion...and to think that, out of all the wonders in the universe, He cares about me...is absolutely the most loving and comforting feeling i can imagine
