3 eggs didn't make it from the grocery store. I was planning on keeping them on an air tight container until ready to use. How many days will they last in the refrigerator?

Thanks guys for your answers!
I was not planning on keeping the egg shells, only "the contents" by placing them in an air tight container. They broke right at the moment I was entering the house (slippery fingers let the bag fall), so not too many minutes passed by after the accident. Of course, that was like half hour ago and by now, I'll probably just forget about them.

Now, I'm curious: some recipes for Tiramisu call for raw eggs. Again, maybe not the safest thing to eat, but how come the dessert has made it after all these years?

The eggs probably cost cost you 50 cents or less and for all the trouble and possible contamination throw them away.

I don't think they last at all after they are opened. You have to use them right away... In the shell they'll last like two weeks in the fridge, but broken open they wont last. If they broke, how did you keep the "egg" part together enough to put in a bag?

I've kept them for a couple days, and I'm not dead. As long as you plan on cooking them to over 160 degrees, I'd say you could keep them for three days. You can, I'm sure, keep them for longer, but I don't think I would be comfortable eating them after 3 days old.

So just use them first and you should be good.

I wouldn't use them because from the time it took from the store to your house they could go bad.... I say throw them out. It is better to lose 3 eggs then to get sick.
