This is a classic example where you need to read the full chapter to understand Matthew 7:21.

Matthew 7:15-22
15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Yes, Jesus did claim he is God.

Matthew 7:21: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
That verse actually reads a little different, because Jesus is Lord, but he is not God Almighty. That is Jehovah, his Father. It is saying that many people who call on the Lord will be very surprised when the end comes and they didn't do the will of the Father, or even acknowledge the Father.
But, Jehovah will make sure that everyone knows that he is the one true God...
Ezekiel 38:23: "And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’"
People are very mislead by the notion that Jesus is God. They have some how missed the whole point. Jesus is God's Son, and not God.

Jesus never actually said the words "I am God" in the Bible, but there are references to this.
In John 8 he said "Truly, truly I say to you that before Abraham was born, I am"
In John 8 he also says "I am the light of the world"
In John 10 he says "I and the Father are one"
In John 14 he tells us that he is "the way, the truth, and the light"
Although Jesus never explicitly said "I am God, bow down and worship me" he tells us many times over by using the words "I AM" that he is, in fact, God.
Hope this helps!
In Christ,

You will find the answer to this question in Phillipians 2:6
Who, being in the form of God, *thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Matthew seven says that not every one who calls Him Lord will enter into heaven.
Jesus did say that I and my father are One. John 1:1 says that "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God." That Word is Jesus Christ.
So, Jesus is God.
Read John 14:10 to hear Jesus explaining to Phillip that He and the Father are one.

He also say's:I and my Father are ONE.When you have seen Me you have seen the Father. Before Abraham was I AM.And the verse's you quoted are before the crucifiction. He was in the flesh and He spoke in parable's so they could understand. When He said I can do nothing of myself that was the flesh talking.Emanuel being interpreted God in the flesh.God walked amongst us.The Father of Jesus was the Holy Ghost that over shadowed Mary and she concieved. And on the cross when He gave up the Ghost that was the Holy Ghost that left His body.It also say's God shed His own blood. And Wannakno is very wrong about it.Also every knee shall bow every tounge confess that Jesus Christ is LORD.

You need to consider the whole counsel of God's Word.
John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."
31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?"
33 The Jews answered him, "It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God."
John 14:8 Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us."
9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

There are more verses in the Bible than those two, you know. You are judging the main doctrine of Christianity by two verses that do not address the argument.
You are not good enough at this to do it justice. Go and do about 3 years of serious Bible study. Then you would not make such a foolish claim.

I agree with you. I do not think Jesus is God. I think that Jesus is Gods son. As He (God) said when Jesus was baptized.
John 14:28; You heard that I said to you, I am going away and I am coming back to you. IF you loved me, You would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, Because the Father is greater than I am.
John 20:17; Jesus said to her: Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them. I am ascending to my Father and your father and to my God and Your God.
1 Co. 11:3; but I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ;in turn the head of a women is the man in turn the head of the Christ is God.
It should be noted that the last one was wrote after Jesus was in heaven. So this is talking about his relationship with God in heaven. So in heaven Jesus head is still God. How can he be equal or how can he be god if his head is God?
why is it that people say John 1:1 when if you read John 1:2 it states "This one was in the beginning WITH God" not as God but with God. How can he be with God and God at the same time?
also what about
John 1:18; No man hath seen God at any time;the only begotten son, which is in "the bosom of the father, he hath declared him.
So Jesus declared his father not himself.

Jesus said he was both the son of God and the son of man.... showing his dual nature..
proof in book of John... about 30 times it says he is son of God
The Father is God... Jesus is the spirit son of God..sent to earth to teach people about his Father.

FIRST, Read the rest of the chapter of Matthew 7.
NEXT, Read John 1:1
and just so you know, the "Word" is another name for Jesus.
