I'm 21, 5'7", and 120 lbs. I have a high metabolism and have trouble gaining weight. I want to be more muscular and weigh around 145 lbs. I know to eat a lot of protein like egg whites and chicken breasts. What else can I do to gain weight? I also lift every other day. I've struggled with this my whole life and have weighed the same since middle school!

eat alot more than you do now? lift as much as you can.

Well i would say your best option is to eat a lot of carbs like rice, bread, Pizza, pasta...those kinds of things. I mean honestly you will gain like that if you associate those into your daily meals. Also, eat pastries, But still go to the gym of course. I was exactly like you i'm 22, 5'8 was 124lbs and moved to LA gained weight by eating those things now i'm at 142. good luck to you

i had the same exact problem! and 120lb did not suit the look that i wanted for myself...i now weigh 173 but i also carry my weight awesomely.thanks mom, but yeah it took about 7-8 months but i found that eating little healthy snacks throughout the day helped,a lot of little snacks helped me feel more hungry after about a month....than start with breakfast, the most important meal...eat a lot of meats in the morning also pasta works very well for morning, and keep you lunches and dinners light but healthy........that's all i can come up with now but i know I'll remember more of what helped me gain my weight healthy and suitable

Here's a good tips
Exersice regularly ( play sports)
Do not skip your meals, eat 3 times per day
Eat more food that have calories and protein like eggs, potato and meat.
Drink more water always keep yourself dehydrate.

you dont want to go about it the wrong way, like eating cakes, and chips and cookies. go towards a healthy way to gain weight, like breads, pastas, and trying to gain muscle weight. you can do that by lifting obvioulsy.

Maybe try eating more starches?
Breads, potatos, pastas...
