That's sort of a strange question. You should be happy she is still alive, even though she does sound like she is a mess. It does sound sort of strange that she has managed to live through all of this. By any chance is she a Maine Coon cat, they have a tendency to live to 25 to 27 years old, and do have a tendency to go deaf and get matted and become a mess. If she is running around and seems to be having a good life on her terms I'd leave her be. Don't put her to sleep until she seems to be suffering. Although she doesn't seem to be the kind of cat that makes you want to give her loads of affection and I'm a cat person, a real cat lover. Don't quite know what to say. Good luck with the cat.

well, you know the saying cats have 9 lives.well i just had to say that... your cat has a normal life style, it gets used to his or her routine. she or he sleeps at the same time, eat at the same time with the same food, and stuff like that most probably. so his body get used to it and can do other things= getting a stroke didn't kill it because the body had enough power to relax on stuff it knows and has more power to survive the stroke..understand? but still i am not sure about the leg... that will change her routine, but not by much...my friends cat was 34 years old when he died, once it died i did some test on it, i got that result. he was def and blind. cat though can fell slight vibration. so you fly in the air and the cat can feel you, that is how i knew he could see and hear me (in a way) i could tame a cat and i did, he came over to me meowing when i was 6 yards away. he could also feel when one of her three dos are shaking (he was traumatized, small puppy that was in the pound when just born, he shakes like crazy when people go near him) and the cat goes up to him trying to calm him down.

Wow, that is one amazing kitty you got there! One reason she's still alive is because you got lucky and your vet hasn't put her to sleep yet. Some vets would put a cat to asleep after a stroke. It sounds like she won't go much longer since she had a stroke and she's matted and all, but who knows? Maybe she's a special little kitty.

I have read that an indoor cat can live upto 30 years but the norm is 18 and an outdoor cat usually will live to around 12 to 14 years. She is probably still alive because you have taken good care of her.

My grandma had a cat like that and they just put her down because nothing was working anymore and the vets couldn't do anything to save her....i would spend as much time with your cat as possible and don't be sad if something does happen to her because you'll know that she's probably feeling a whole lot better.

Wow, I've never heard of a cat living that long. I've heard they live about 15 to 20 years. You must be doing all the right things. Keep up the good work. She must be pretty healthy to still be alive.

Obviously she is still alive because she isn't ready to die! I have a female cat who is 19 and still going strong. She hasn't had any medical problems and she still acts like a kitten. I say that you have been blessed to have a cat who has managed to stay alive this long, so sit back and enjoy!
