Can someone please explain how i would install a toggle on the remote wire from my head unit to my amp somewhere in the middle so i can mount it on my dash and be able to control my amp on/off from there.

~ I would have an automotive electrician install a relay for that purpose... the relay would be controlled by a low amperage 12volt supply, and would either OPEN or CLOSE the heavy "Hot" wire feeding your amplifier.

The relay would allow for smaller wires to be brought into the dash area, without having to bring in the Main Power for the amp into the dash area.

Note: turn the amp off when you stop at lights and/or are parked in residential areas... that heavy/loud bass equipment caused my wife to suffer greatly. Thanks.

The simplest kind of switch has two terminals on the back. Connect one terminal to a wire that runs to the remote output on your head unit, or whatever you're using for an amp turn-on source. Connect the other terminal to the wire that runs to your amp.

Don't worry about hot/ground; there's no need for a relay; it doesn't matter which terminal you use for which wire.

You just answered your own question.

Run a fused (1 amp) wire from the remote turn on from the head unit to a switch, then from the other side of the switch to the REM connection on the amp.

This allows for full control.

That is a pain in the butt. Just run a remote turn on from an accessory in your fuse panel that will tell the amp when to kick on and off.

What kind of switch is it? If it is a three prong switch one wire would be your ground wire which would be labeled GRND the other wire would be accessory which would be labeled ACC, and the third wire would be your power wire and it would be labeled PWR For that switch you would run the ground wire somewhere that you can ground it and hook the ACC wire to the amp and the power wire to your head unit

GOOD LUCK!
