HM is currently closed to females. you won't get HM at all. there are, however, plenty of ratings that you could get that would land you sea duty.

I haven't heard about not taking females for corpsman right not, but the Navy did just combine the Dental Tech and Corpsman rating where everyone is an HM or "Doc" and females can be attached to deployable units of all types. Seabee battalions, carriers, most ships except subs, and females can also be Fleet Marine Force qualified and be stationed with Marine Corps units

The jobfield you're wanting to get into is Hospital Corpsman. Women and men are on all kinds of ships in the Navy, from a Hospital ship, to combatant ships. Currently the only ship women arent allowed to serve on are submarines. Yes women are being deployed in support of all efforts the U.S. Navy is involved in, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay, and other efforts around the world.

While I'm not intimately familiar with all of the ins and outs of the Navy Corpsman (HM) rating, which is what you are asking about (the Navy doesn't call them 'medics' they are usually called 'Doc'), The people at this websit ( http://www.corpsman.com/ )are. I do know that if you keep asking and pushing to depoy, that is what you will get. However these days deploy usually means Iraq. the best I can tell you is everywhere you go, talk to your chief, tell him what you want and work hard, no matter what the job is, and you will be recognized and rewarded

The navy isn't taking any women in the corpsman rate right now. Try coming in as a Dental Tech. Your chances of being deployed are about 100%.

Just a bit of advice... if HM is closed to females right now, don't give up. Those that joined right after 9-11 are coming up on the end of their enlistments, so they may open that MOS back up to women... they do, after all, provide corpsman services to the Navy and the Marine Corps.

You have as good a chance as any sailor being assigned to a NON-COMBAT ship. No female billets on DDGs/FFGs/subs. There are only 2 repair ships in the Navy (Sardinia and Guam), but there are billets on carriers. Request a sea going billet, and I'm sure the Navy will accommodate you because some folks don't want that duty.
Welcome aboard, DOC!
Wow! You can take my vitals anytime!

Ask! You never know, they might say yes. I would take a tour first though and at least taste the Navy Chow. My brother was stationed on the Bird Farm (Enterprise) and he would sure come back hungry!

I do like the call Ashley Marie, and that i admire Ariana Rennee. i think of they're very exceedingly, and that i might like the two considered one of those to be my names. I comprehend your emotions approximately Sapphire and Ember. they're very unique names. think of roughly which call you will possibly somewhat have- Sapphire or Ember? To make this undemanding, i think of you ought to call one baby Ariana or Ashely, and the different Sapphire or Ember. this is the only undemanding way. this is the two that or you are able to roll a cube or play rock paper scissors, besides the fact that if that could nicely be volatile. ok, right this is my opinion. i think of you ought to call one twin Ashley Marie, because of the fact i think of this is a pleasing call and in elementary terms for my area i think of i might somewhat be named that than Ariana, yet i might nonetheless like to be named Ariana. i think of you ought to call the different baby Ember, because of the fact in case you think of roughly it, it rather is a lovable call and that i think of it rather is particularly greater effective than Sapphire. this is undemanding, and the two pleasing names. i rather wish this helps, I labored puzzling in this. sturdy success. additionally, in keeping with risk you are able to spell Ember with an A- Amber. in elementary terms a theory.
