I came from a loving religious Baptist family, three brothers and two sisters that I am extremely close with. Knowing how most are going to be judging me, treating me because I am a gay man. Just knowing for the rest of my life I will have to defend or ignore the ridicule. Even as a child I was aware of something was different with my thoughts. A perfectly normal house hold. Wishing they made a prescription so I could be heterosexual. Get married, have kids, have a normal life. Why do most still say it is a choice issue. I just dont understand.

I too have grown up in a Baptist family. I have several friends who are gay, so I have seen the kind of ridicule they face. If your family truly loves you, they won't judge you or ridicule you. Yes, they have been taught to believe that homosexual behavior is sin, but you are to be forgiven. You are their son/brother...you are their blood. You are their love. They should respect your decision.

I hope you find the answers in life that you are looking for, and that you find a place where you feel accepted and loved.

well, considering how "normal" society treats gay folks who in their right mind would chose to be gay. i'm not gay but i am rather eccentric and i have had to learn self acceptance.
you're gonna have to learn to love and accept yourself too unless you decide to go through life pretending to be someone you're not, live a lie just to appear socially acceptable.

you might consider moving to Key West or Province Town. lots of gay folks live in those towns (i lived in KW for 15 yrs). you might find true love and fer sure no one would look askance at you.

PS. Key West is a way cool town. we had an openly gay mayor while i lived there

Isn't it funny how christians compassion and tolerance only extends to those who christians agree with?
