AMEX has a much stricter approval criteria than other major banks. From my experience, one of the loosest banks is Chase. You might try the Chase Platinum card here:

Of course, you should compare other offers before you apply. But Chase is known to have a much higher approval rate than most other issuers.

Hope this helps!

If you have good credit, any credit care is easy to get. But why would you want any american express card. They all charge you a annual fee. Unless there is something that the american express card gives you to compensate for the annual fee, I don't see the point, there are lots of credit cards that offer points or cash back, and don't charge an annual fee, and are a lot easier to get.

why you looking to get an amex card so desperately?? everytime you apply for a credit card, it adversely affects your credit rating. so you should stop trying to get an amex card until you build up your credit card and get your debts in check.

but seriously, why do you NEED an amex?? for status? for show?? stop jeopardizing youre credit report by constantly trying to get that amex card!

I have placed this in the source box. There is a wealth of information there and a great free debt management software program. I bookmarked the site as I return to it often for the advice it offers. I hope this helps you.

None are. American Express screens their applicants carefully.

They are basically aimed at professional people, for business travel.
