If I've offended any Southern Christians, please turn the other cheek (Matt 5:24)

I really believe Jesus was dark skinned. If anyone with any brains read the Bible it clearly states where he was from and those people do not have light skin.

I would have to hope not! Actually I think that most Southerns would have moved past those times . However, if one thing should remain true, is that if Jesus was dark-skinned, many racists would ban the idea and most likely make it a huge controversy over nothing! Going atheist would be a bit to the extreme don't you think? If your Lord and Savior just had a skin change, but the teachings still stayed the same...do you not think that the person's faith really was not all there? If someone were to change their beliefs over a idiotic piece of information like skin color, then they really had not faith at all.

Neither. We all know that Christ was Aramaic. He was born and raised in Nazareth (Judea) The pictures for some reason however have never depicted him as being dark skinned. Perhaps some white supremist types would be upset but I certainly hope by now the wonderful people of the South realize and accept the fact that his skin is not the pearly white shown in the paintings.

Jesus probibly was a tan Aramaic. Noone in there right mind should question this. He wasn't sub-saharan african, but probibly looked like most modern Arabs from the region. He probibly wasn't a white dude. Although I don't see how his skin tone should matter. You should either believe he was God or believe he wasn't God, skin tone shouldn't matter, although intentionally fudging his tone simply breeds racism by emphasizing race.

"...Jesus was Aramaic (dark-skinnned)...?"

You assume otherwise? o.0 It would be very strange if he was a white person in the middle east, heh.

Though that is not the only thing that people assume that is VERY strange. Especially when on this subject ;).

That actually would be a strong possibility about Jesus. The poor had very dark skin.

we don't need physical evidence, the bible already tells us what we need to know about his genealogy. he was descended from David so he was Semitic Jew. and probably was dark skinned . don't know many southern Christians that don't know that,or care one way or the other.to most Christians, Jesus was the son of God and that goes way past color. It,s a waste of time to stir that pot.><>

That evidence may be hard to find. But it's kinda common sense that all the people from that region both then and now have brown skin.

I thought they found physical evidence he was of darker skin color. remember most of that stuff happened in the middle east. Noah's Ark had to have taken place in Africa cause most of the animals that were put into the ark come from Africa. also it does say in the bible that Jesus had skin of bronze and hair of wool

Skin color is such an intriguing subject. Either way, He is still Christ and gave mankind the greatest gift ever. Yes, it is sad that so many would cringe at that idea, but I don't see it as anything to concern myself with.
