my dell have vista premium home-i can play a dvd but when i try an burn a dvd the roxi burner says no disk is in the drive ,and windows media player does not list burner as a option-i've tried R-,R+ any suggestions would be welcome

just a thought but there are dvd drives that can read a dvd or cd but can only burn cd's is yours one of them that would explain you problem

in case you purchase a dell equipment do not flow for the needed Vista version, you is honestly no longer waiting to do something with it, and take a seem at Dells after sales provider,, it does have a nasty call,, Me i doesn't have a Dell given to me if something is going incorrect with it in person-friendly words dell can fix it, no individual else will contact them,,

if your dvd player is capable of burning dvds you might try the link below for a player that i use for burning dvds its called sonic ---- make sure you dont already have it in your programs -- i have a dell also and sonic came with it but mine is xp
