In my personal use, drawing is better for detail & painting is better for abstract

When people use to see my drawings they would to say ''you should be an artist'' and i can't even count the number of times i heard that. Now when they check out my paintings they don't say that anymore, painting seems to have elevated me to artist status in their eyes. So, for me, i'll go with painting as the better of the two. My work can be seen at hellosanantonio.com under artist name ''Guerro''.

I take a good drawing over a bad painting and vice versa any day. I like colorful drawings or just scetches when they are good as much as a good painting, even if it is not so colorful, like some of Pollacks paintings.

They are equal. What ever your inspiration is, is taken, and created in what ever way you want it depicted. There are things you can do with pencil, pastel, charcohl, acrylic, oil paint, oil pastel, water color, water color pencil, color pencil, ink, ink & brush, well, I think you get the point. Some people even combine the two. Get as creative as you wish. None is the better media, but smart is the one who tries it all to see what they like the best.

I like acrylic paints, but as well, love charcohl, pastels, and pencil.

Personal opinion is drawing is more important,if you want to call yourself good you have to be able to draw well.

Painting on the other hand is for play.
