No he is not right. That is just poor exegesis. There is every manner of animal in heaven. Re revelations. the streets are of gold so pure you can see through it. River of life flows from under the throne... It is more real than this place. We will not have these bodies we will be like the angels, "neither male nor female" "I am the God of Abraham Issac... the God of the living not the God of the dead"
Jesus as the firstborn of the dead told Thomas to touch the nail scarred hands and feet. His new glorified body.
You might read "Visions beyond the Veil". A group of Chinese orphans saw much of the next life, including riding on animals, having fun.

Your teacher may have something relatively right, Spirit is an unseen and unproven part of human body. So, it will mean that heaven may also be something unseen but rather just a state of mind. Human spirit is the essence of one's life. It is his spirit that stays in the memory of the ones he has affected while still living. You must have heard of national heroes, martyrs, geniuses, inventors, philosophers and saints having their names or even pictures carved out in stones, written iin the books, shown in many types of written articles, recorded in the archives of history, their lives being filmed, prayed for intercessions to God. Heaven is like that to the dead. For as long as they can be remembered for their good deeds. You may also heard of near death experience and their spiritual encounters of deities in heaven. I believe that condition is what has been planted into the minds of many specially those are devoted to their religion. The Chinese Buddhist would not see Jesus in their death instead they might see the Buddha. The Catholics will never be greeted by any diety except St. Peter, Jesus, Mary or other saints and angels and so forth and so on. So, that phenomen on the dead seeing the deities they beleived will be temporary in nature because that is just in the memory or the brain functions that is about to come to realization after a certain period. Your imagination of heaven would be the same as how you have conceived it from what you learned from your environment.

Angel—a former human resurrected with a body of flesh and bones yet no longer exalted to be a God; or a spirit being who has no longer yet attained a body of flesh and bones; or the disembodied spirit of a deceased human looking forward to resurrection. for sure that's all incorrect, and very undesirable angelology. the position did they arrive from? a. Angels, a minimum of human beings, were created at a level in time. playstation . 148:2-5; John a million:a million-3; Col. a million:16. each angel is an instantaneous creation: i.e., they did not descend from an unique pair as we did; they do no longer procreate as we do (Mt. 22:28-30). b. at the same time as were angels created? likely they were created earlier the activities of Gen. a million:1ff. See job 38:4-7. c. In what moral state were they created? they ought to were created righteous and upright for the straightforward undeniable actuality that God does indirectly create evil. a number of texts assert or recommend an unique act of insurrection (Rev. 12; Col. a million). (3) What are they prefer? a. personality the straightforward elements of personality are mind, emotion, will, self-information, self-decision, a experience of moral criminal responsibility (i.e., experience of correct and incorrect) and the potential to pursue it, and so on. If you can figure out a way to have spirit become physical, then heaven is physical.

By the way, your theology teacher is not know-it-all. No one has every answer in life. You just have to wait, about a life time, and see what happens next.

It is a spiritual place right now, but when Jesus returns it will become a physical place. This earth as we know it now will disappear and a new earth(heaven) that is free from sin, hate, and death will emerge. The dead will resurrect and our spirits will be reunited with our glorified bodies, and we will live on heaven(the new earth.)

Hang on their buddy, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Yes, Heaven is a planet, a very spiritual planet. Earth was modeled after it. There are trees, plants, flowers, rivers (ocean?) and dogs!
Yes, I am pretty sure one of mine (first one really) will be there. We will do things up there and have alot of fun!
We will even eat supper there too!
Yes, it is a Spiritual place but just think of the Earth like it used to be befor satan and Adam messed it up!
Earth was JUST like HEAVEN!
Ditto................(with Heaven just alittle more spiritual!)

Do not the lambs lie down with the lions in Heaven
so why would dogs get left out?

Was Jesus not physical when He ascended into Heaven?

guess I am theologically different from your teacher

But - if Jesus is there - will it not be perfect?

He will have it - and we will love it - either way!
That is, all who are called, according to His purpose.

It is said we shall have new bodies for our new lives in heaven or new earth, so I prefer to believe the bible text. And in Gen. Everything that is in heaven was also made here on our earth so there is a fine chance you will see many types of animals even many that are no longer here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is mostly right. Heaven will be extra-dimensional. Now there will be a millennium period (1,000 years) of Christ's reign upon the earth. That will be physical. But after that, both the eternal and physical may be accessed together. Let's just say that what ever you think heaven will be, it will be FAR better.

If heaven exists, it doesn't not have a physical composition, no. The happiness you recieved from your dog would still be there, yes. However, it's not like some sort of utopian earth realm, it's the afterlife.
