so they can market a new drug for it and make millions? The power of suggestion is very strong and if they come up with some generic disease (that most people would display some symptoms of) then people are going to see those commercials and say, hey! I have that! Maybe I need this drug for it. I mean there is a "disease" for everything imaginable now! PMS is now called PMDD? Restless legs syndrome? COME ON! How many people's legs DON'T twitch? I think it's all a scam by the pharmaceutical companies to get rich. I know there are certain diseases out there, but not a disease for every little thing. People get so reliant on drugs nowadays that they can't function! I think it takes a weak minded individual to get a drug for every little problem that they have.

Yes indeed! It's a billion dollar scam to get you hooked and addicted. Pharmacy companies are not concerned about finding a cure for anything because that would put them out of business. Acid reflux is a joke. An upset stomach or indigestion is not a disease. There are pills to help you sleep and wake up, pills if you are too hyper, pills if you are sad. Feeling sad or depressed is a natural response based on life's experiences. A person can get counseling, exercise, change their diet etc... No one is happy 100% of the time. There are pills for everything! The drug companies are con artists and they should be exposed.

Well, I think you aren't really LOOKING for an answer to your question, you're making a statement.

However, I will say two things: PMDD is just very bad PMS, it was always there. I had restless legs problems long before I had ever heard of it (pre internet days). Don't be thinking because you get PMS or your legs twitch a bit that you have PMDD or restless legs, or it's all made up. These conditions are real, that's why the drugs were approved. AFTER the drugs are approved, I DO think the drug companies overmarket their pills to people with very mild forms of these problems, people who should not be taking the risk of a medication to deal with minor problems. And I think doctors should give patients handouts on things they can do at home to make their condition better without the expense and risk of drugs. (of course, most people won't do those things for very long, it is hard to change your lifestyle).

The truth is always somewhere in the middle. Yes, drug companies overmarket, and some people reach for a pill for any little complaint (fewer, now, since we've had all the scares lately). But there are very serious medical conditions that people need pills for, and just because YOU aren't familiar with that condition, doesn't mean it isn't real or extremely painful/debilitating/embarrassing etc.

Companies are in business to make money, and if they don't they are no longer companies. You need to look at the Return on Equity for the major pharmaceutical companies and you will find that they earn much less net profit on money invested than companies like Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald's. You need to realize that it can take $10 or $20 million dollars to get a drug from the concept stage through the trial stages to production about a decade later. Pharmaceutical companies must make money, yet at the same time they must solve problems or they will be out of business.

It seems that way sometimes with all the crazy things they talk about but I don't think they make them up but they are interested in making the money from selling you the pills! That's why there is no cure for cancer, aids or even the common cold. There is no big profit in selling you a cure just the constant selling of drugs to "help" you thru it all.

Thanks Chris Rock!

I believe you and hear you loud and clear...just look at what they are doing to kids today with all the shots they are making them take, and destroying minds along the way...they are cause and effect...the doctors, the hospitals, and the companies,...look at the immunizations that are not needed, and causing autism..this is horrible what they are being allowed to get away with...and parents are suffering for it...and in the meantime, polititions are taking money also from the companies to sell and push the stuff, and even passing laws to force you to take their damaging pills...

Restless leg syndrome is real and will make your life miserable. It is very painful, not just a twitch.
