Tough w/o addt'l details. Have done both.
We replaced all fixtures in b/r, new flooring, closet, stool, medicine cabinet sink, whirlpool tub (mistake), venting and heater fan, drywall, trim, paint , etc. for about $3900.. We did all the work but the flooring . B/r size is about 6'x8'. The kitchen is another story.
We spent about $14,000-BUT we stripped the kitchen down to the bare bones. We started w/ a shell and 26" of counter space. The floor was off-level by 5 inches. Had the appliances been on rollers, they would have been in a heap at one end of the kitchen! We had ceramic tile put in, and bought all new appliances except for the stove. While installing an inexpensive skylight, the kitchen roof caved in and had to be re-done. We bought Kraftmade cabinets (hooray!) and paid a premium for the finish I selected. Put in a cast sink which I love-again some extra$, but worth it. All new counter-tops, just regular stuff, w/ a strip of cherry accent trim to match cabinets (not very much more$-maybe $100) and new lighting, all new rewiring, garbage disposal (which I managed to ruin in one year by overstuffing w/ potato peels and we had to tear out a whole bunch of pipe) hardware for 17 cabinets and two pantry cabinets.
Have fun! I agonized!

I live in Canada. Having just done the bathroom, typical cost is about $5,000 - 7,000 for that, depending on the accessories. A kitchen, using home depot, i just priced at around 10,000 to re-do. and it will go up from there, that is kinda bottom line going through them. Now if you can find good used cabinets you can be ahead of the game a little with that.

Bathroom and kitchen renovations are some of the most expensive things that you can do in your house. My sister-in-law spent almost $40,000 on her renovation and her husband did all of the work. If they would have had to pay for labor, you could probably add another $25,000 to $30,000 onto that.

We redid our kitchen, somewhat, by taking out the old cupboards and replacing them with stock cupboards from Lowes. We replaced the floor, new countertops, new sink, new faucet, paint, 2 new light fixtures. My husband and I did all the work ourselves, with the exception of the flooring. It cost us about $5500.

So it totally depends on how much you want to spend and how much work you can do yourself.

It all depends on whether you will be doing the work or a contractor will be doing it. If your doing it yourself a bathroom could cost you a few thousand. With a contractor about $7000. It all depends on size and what you want in it also. If there will be things like seperate shower stalls and bathtubs added. Wall or floors redone. Its really hard to say. Same with the kitchen. Could be 10,000.00 Could be 40,000.00.
It all depends on what you add and do to it. Good Luck

It will cost around 20,000 $ if you do it by yourself or if you hire a professional then the cost may increase by 5000 $.I would suggest to do it by yourself only if you know how to make the changes or else it may lead into spoiling of your kitchen as well as your bathroom.
