My dog has been professionally trained. We have never had a problem with her leaving but this past week she's been running off quite a bit. After one of the times she ran off she came back with no collar. We are not sure why this is. I have been walking her regularly, she has just all the sudden become extremely restless. We have kept her outside only under supervision but somehow today she got away. She doesn't have tags on, just a spare collar we had. PLEASE HELP US!!! God bless.

We have a small neighborhood but we checked everywhere. My sister is in her car driving around right now.

She ran away about three hours ago. We think she slipped out an open door.

I just found a dog. And I am trying to find his home. It is very stressful when a pet gets lost. I am sure that she will come back home to you. Just stay positive, and never give up.

Is your dog spayed? If not she may be in heat and this could be why she is out running so much.

Visit your local animal control shelter DAILY. Calling won't help as you can't trust that someone will be able to identify your dog from your description.

If you have a picture of the dog, make up flyers and post them around town with your phone number. You may want to offer a reward. You can even go door to door and ask people if they've seen her.

Call the animal shelters.
All of them within 50 miles.
Is she in season? or in Heat?
female dogs do this when they are in heat!
it is spring tomorrow.

is she micro-chipped?

put up signs, go get signs with her photo made, and offer and honor the reward $$ you put on the poster.
hit all the telephone poles, put an ad in the newspaper.
Go door to door!!!
Follow the route you normally walk!!

i hope u find her.
where I live, they have dog thief rings, for expensive dogs, but the dogs have microchips in them, and are found. every vet microchips a dog when it's checked in now. to make sure it's not stolen.

Call the shelters, go door to door
post signs, and a newspaper add lost dog/reward

sometimes some dogs that are professionally trained feels the need to get out and let loose so that is one way that they will. Another reason is because it does not like the owner or just likes to go exploring sometimes dogs also smell something that is good so they follow their sense and do what they think is right. My advice is to just stay calm or make sure your dog doesn't get out by keeping it in a fenced in area or kennel but let it out from time to time.

~ Many dogs try to find a place to recover from an illness or to die... I pray that's not the case for your pooch.

~ Pull the family together, and PRAY together...

Big question:

Is she spayed?

If not, that explains everything, as she's probably in heat.
