...when my hair is in the bun. I put my hair in the bun for my dance competitions. I want it to look very smooth and shiny. How do I do that? If I just use hair gel it is pretty smooth but not as shiny and smooth as some other people have it. Some people make it so smooth it looks like glass surface. Is there a trick or special hair poduct that helps to achieve that? I have long straight hair.

there's a ton of different products that will make your hair shiny, but what i have right now is pomade. it's like gel made to make your hair shiny. however (at least the kind i just got), it doesn't have a lot of hold.

1. think about changing your shampoo..victoria's secret has a great shampoo/conditioner line called "So Sexy" they have a shampoo and conditioner for moisturizing and it smells so good.
2. i just bought a new shower head and for some reason, i don't know why, it made my hair feel very smooth. So just look for different shower heads if yours is out of date
3. Just getting a hair cut (trim even) could to the trick, the way they wash it just seems to do it
4. try really moisturizing conitioners and just sit yourself down after a shower and slowly brush your hair --scalp to tip -- using a comb...that should to it too

Try a glossing spray. I just bought a new one by Garnier-Fructis (at walmart/walgreens). It has a strong hold and is made to give your hair a glossy appearance.
