he>i, if you really belive that, then you are a catalyst for all that is sick in the world. The only thing religion saves is stored in vaults under the streets of Switzerland.

lol Pain stupid...a new combination.

I like that. Semitic religions are both painful and stupid.
Not all of them though.

As much as I lack interest in religions, I do not consider that people who believe in them are completely misguided, fools, or necessarily stupid.

However, I do consider that those who believe that their personal religion is the only belief system with merit are selfish, ignorant, and anti-social.

i would guess that they're plain stupid- i mean come one...loving one another as your neighbor-who wants to do that? contributing billions of dollars a year to try and help the world- tearing down the walls of childhood prostitution and human trafficking in Asia- supplying water to multiple communities in Africa- so that people can have basic needs met... you're right... they are totally misguided and know nothing of the real world.

There are plenty of stupid people out there, but it has nothing to do with their religion (or lack of). There was a thing on YouTube with a guy sticking a Roman candle in his butt and lighting it. Now THAT'S "pain stupid" for ya!

Neither. Some folks just need to believe their lives are guided by higher powers. It's a way of dealing with the harsh realities of adulthood. The way I see it, as long as it doesn't interfere with other people's lives or affect world politics, it isn't a problem. When it becomes a weapon or political force, then we've got trouble.

I find it interesting that you think a believer stupid.
That you think a believer misguided.

You yourself must have some beliefs.
Perhaps Science.
Perhaps mathematics.
Perhaps just grabbing women and having a good time.
Maybe drugs.

I don't call you stupid and misguided.
I think that you should do whatever you want.

What goes on in a persons inner self is his. He is entitled to it.
He should not be belittled by others for it.

Neither, actually. There is much to be said for religion. Studies have indicated that the support given to a member of a religion by its adherents contribute to well-being and lessened anxiety.

Around 95% of the world's population believe in a God of some sort. I bet that's as much concept of the real world as being pain stupid... he he.

As much as I'm against religion in general, this is NOT gonna help the non-religious people look any better.

Most people seem to have a need to believe in something greater than themselves. Most people find great comfort in the promises that faith brings.

But then again, most people are pretty darn stupid.
