some carb-phobic people may be mistaking the high sugar content of fruit with bad carbohydrates. the truth is that apples are very good for you. In fact, the naturally occuring sugar can actually help people who have issues due to blood sugar. Not to mention the healthy energy boost you get after such a good snack. they are packed with water too of course, and good for hydration. all natural foods are pretty much a green light as far as I'm concerned!
eat 'em up!

Apples aren't fattening. They are less than 100 calories, and a great source of fiber.
Maybe the people who are telling you that follow the Adkins diet - and are eliminating carbohydrates. Either way - Apples are healthy!

I don't think apples are fattening at all. What kind of moron keeps telling you that?! Have they never heard the expression, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"???

Just don't go too crazy with the sugar or simple carbohydrates. Apple juice can be very fattening. Especially by itself, with nothing to balance it out in the same meal.

Some people think that anything sweet is fattening; but then some people have the IQ of a turnip, right? ;-) Go ahead and eat apples - they only have a hundred calories or so, and they have loads of good vitamins and fiber.

Apples are a great food because they lower the risk of heart disease, prevent constipation, control diabetes and prevent cancer. But the old saying is AN apple a day...Now if your calorific intake is greater than your body can handle increased weight can result, whatever the increased calory source.

Everything is fattening if you eat too much of it.
A daily apple is not fattening.

Nope, they're good for you. Less than 100 calories, no artificial sugar(take that, fast food!!!) and with high fibre, you couldn't go wrong with an apple.

Yesterday my know-it-all sister tried to tell me that I was at risk for diabetes because I eat 7-9 pieces of fruit everyday.
According to her, all that fruit is a strain on my pancreas.
Pfft!
