My mother was terrific! Believe it or not -- she was 49 years old when she had me and I was her only child! My father was 56! They had tried to have children for a very, very long time and I was a "miracle" of sorts. Anyway, I have many precious memories of my mother (she's deceased now). When I was 4 or 5 we would "camp out" on our enclosed patio during the summer nights when it was really hot. She would make homemade lemonade and we would eat homemade lemon cookies. We would watch television and color. She's been gone for 12 years now and I still miss her everyday (and I'm 44 now).

For me, the memory of my brothers and I all hoping into Mum's bed and her telling us stories as we all snuggled together and fell asleep. Also of waking up in her arms as she carried me inside (after long car trips)
The things that made me feel safe and secure and loved.
Another great memory for me is bedtime. My Mum would sit in the hallway between my room and my brothers room. And sing to us and make up really good stories. She would sit there not for 5 or 10 minutes but over an hour, tailoring her stories to each of her children. For us it was a very speacial magical time. And my daughters now love snuggling up with Nanny and listening to her stories.
I tel them stories too, but Nan's are always so good and magical and you really believe you are in the story.

id have to say, that she and my dad taught me about the Lord. I remember laying in her bed around 5 years old with a really bad ear ach. she prayed for me and told me to trust that the Lord will heal me and take care of all my needs if i trust him. i did and went to sleep. when i woke up my ear ach was gone and never bothered me again at that time. Im sure i had ear aches since then but i always remembered that and i still trust the lord to take care of my every lil need. He is always there and has never failed me. I teach my kids the same and have told them this same story. my mom is a wonderful mom and i thank her for most of all careing for where my soul is more then anything. God Bless u and thanks for asking this wonderful question

My mom always made sure to tell me how much she loved me and thought I was special. She passed away a few years ago, but I am doing my best to apply that example with my daughter.

She let me brush her hair. My mom used to have really long, straight hair--it was below her butt. She would keep it up or braid it most of the time, but when she let it down she'd let me and my sister brush it. We didn't have a lot of money, so that was kind of our 'bonding' time.
