If anything, I would say you are somewhat underweight. I dont think you would have much of a gut with only 13.7% body fat, assuming that is accurate. Eating a mid-day snack does keep your metabolism going and helps you avoid overeating at dinner. Stick with a high-protein diet, and finish your meals off with fresh fruit. Working out is also very important, about 40% of the equation. You're not doing anything wrong. Rather than focusing on losing weight, focus on dropping body fat and building muscle. In the end, how you look in the mirror is the most important thing, not what the scale says.

Hon, you're pretty thin at 5'7". It sounds like you need to tone up rather than lose weight. Working out with weights would be a good way to do that. Can you afford a gym membership or access a gym some other way, like a YMCA membership or community center? Do you know any older people who work out and would be willing to show you how to use the machines? Ask around.

Be careful about working out if you do get into a gym. If you don't use the weights the right way you can do more harm than good.

At your age, snacks are a good thing but make sure they're healthy foods like fruit, sandwiches on whole grain bread, boiled eggs, whole grain cereal... you get the idea.
Good luck. You sound like a motivated person,.

stretch out your food intake. take 5 meals a day but make them tiny so instead of having large meals and being hungry for a snack, alls you are eating is like a sandwich here and an apple there keeping you full to not even want to eat the cookies, trust me i lost 17 pounds in 2 months by just doing that and sitting on the couch. also that is what the recomondation is from my neighbor who is a nutritionist.

Okay first off you are way underweight to want to lose weight! You way about the normal weight of a 5' girl! not to be mean it's the truth.

You should maybe try to gain weight w/ muscle if that's what you want, but u should defiantly GAIN weight. try eating red meats, or get more protein. If you were fat I would say cut out snacks, but since you're not I say maybe you don't need to cut them completely out of diet.

u could replace them with a healthy food u enjoy, or maybe you could eat a COUPLE every now and then for a treat. If you are really conserned, eat the cookies on the day you work out to burn the fat right off! good luck to you, even though you are already underweight. maybe u just need muscle. watever, it's ur choice. =)
