well first of all learning is such a beautiful word... cant get enough of it
your question reminds me of the circle of life
how we matter to something else and that something else matters to another...
when we see that connection , then we begin to change how we affect that connection
I want to keep my environment clean , for my children , for the animals etc
I want to keep me healthy , that I may grow old to see my children
I want to keep the air unpoluted because this is what I leave to my children and to the animals
we are so very important , our actions now are very important
the future is in our hands

Trust me it plays a big one. As a christian i used to always allow things around me to affect me. either it was something to do with my life by reason of bills and other things i worried about my parents, and just plain and simple trying to make it on this earth as a christian. i found that very difficult. This affected my life more so my spiritual life it tested my faith and everything associated with it. It made me question my GOD, My silly imperfections made me question me and my GOD again for making me. So it was much of my environment or what i saw around me that affected my life and spirituality Now i feel i have matured to a certain extend especially spiritual where i can now differentiate the real from the fake, and even find peace within the different environments i experience each day. That's the role that learning about it has played.

I hate to go with the generic "circle of life" answer but, regardless of what belief system one holds, learning about the life that surrounds us shows just how connected and interdependent we are. A rather humbling way to teach the need for thoughtful living.

We and everything are all connected. Having awareness of our connections, and the impact of our interactions, creates perspective. Perspective is everything. All we have to do is turn our heads and we have created an entirely new universe.

For me, this means that we ALL get to be right.

That's it, in a nutshell.

Your earlier two questions were elaborations of this one.
