I think waiting is most important because you don't want to get pregnant right after you have had a baby.
Birth control is the main reason why most women do wait, they don't want to risk getting pregnant.
If you feel up to it than knock yourself out. It's up to you anyways.

The reason they give you the 6 weeks to not have sex is because you could have an aneruism while having sex. It doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. You should really wait the 6 weeks just to be on the safe side.

It's just a recommendation for when you have stopped bleeding, feel comfortable, and everything has sorta fallen back in the forrect place. I wasn't able to for about 3 months because I bled for about 2 months and still was not physically ready, but if you are eariler than 6, more power to you...enjoy yourself, but take it easy and listen to what your body is saying...

You should always take it easy your first time after giving birth. Obviously, if you have any stiches down there, you should wait. Otherwise if you're feeling up to it and you don't feel pain with intercourse and aren't in danger of ripping stiches.... by all means, proceed with caution.

you really need to be careful and take it slow, choose a position where you can control the speed and depth and if it hurts, stop. everyone heals at a different pace, so you could try but don't push it. you don't want to injure yourself because then you'd have to wait even longer!

To be honest (and don't tell my doctor...lol) I did not either time, but me and my husband were really careful and he was gentle, no rough stuff. I think it was about 3 weeks after my first and about 4 weeks on my youngest when we finally had sex. I am not recommending it, but I am just telling you what we did.And be careful!!
