Hi. about 3 years ago, i got a speeding ticket. I showed up to court and the officer that gave me the ticket was there. I decided to take traffic school and paid for my ticket but that cop dismissed everyones case. Later on, i received a check in the mail for the amount i had paid for my ticket. Does this mean that my ticket (case) was dismissed and out of my driving record?

The officer CAN'T dismiss the case. It sounds to me that the court voided every ticket the officer wrote. That probably means the officer was guilty of something. My GUESS is this ticket is no longer on your record. I would check with the court. Depending on your state, you may be able to check your own record on-line.

You need to call the court to be sure, but it sounds like it's fully dismissed if you got your money refunded.

I'm surprised they didn't at least keep some court costs from it.

Not being familiar with American law, I would guess it does. Why not ring up the police and ask?
