is there anything that reacts with hairspray?

something that maybe if you spray it on will counter the stickiness or render it otherwise useless.

Doubt it, but watch out most sprays have alcohol and they are very flammable (dangerous).

A lighter will pretty much remove ALL traces of hair spray. ;)
