The small intestine produces the following enzymes:
secretin
maltase
peptidase

Many enzymes are released into the small intestine but are produced in other organs such as the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.

Brunner's Glands are glands that produce mucus to protect the intestinal wall from gastric acid. The mucus is alkaline to counteract the acidity of the gastric acid.
