Honestly, vets give pets vicoden in a much lower dosage. If you have some of that around, give it about a quarter of the pill (open it's mouth with both hands and place it as far back as you can - shut it's mouth and keep it shut, your cat will swallow it - or crush it up and mix it with a small amount of food).
Technically, this is illegal. But it answers your question.

You can give 1/2 an aspirin (call a vet though to be sure) but no people pain killers.Tramadol is the cat pain killer but it is needed from the vet. Go to a 24 hour vet! Or look in the phone book for a vet with evening hours. Why are you waiting if the animal is in pain??

Best NOT to give any human pain medication to a cat. Many over-the-counter human pain meds are highly toxic to cats. This includes Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen (absolutely toxic), and aspirin. If you absolutely must, call a vet and ask if you can give a little little bit of ASPIRIN - but you'll need to know the exact dose - otherwise, you might damage your cat's kidneys.

If a limb has been injured you can use an alternating warm/cold compress or a soak in some epsom salt water.
I put I half cup of epsom salt in tepid water in a large dish and held my kitty's foot in it for ten minutes. This was what the vet told us to do when the cat hurt her foot. It wasn't broken, just sort of sprained.

Don't give your cat anything until you speak to a vet. Human pain medications can kill a cat, even in very small doses.

Don't give your cat anything without asking the vet first. Cats' livers do not function the same way ours do and anything not from your vet is likely to kill your cat.

cats do not react well to any oral painkillers. if your cat is in extreme pain then phone your vet and get advice else you could do more harm than good. my advice would be keep the cat calm, confined if possible and in a darken room. this keeps my own two calm when in pain from injuries help this helps
