The canned/pouch food from the following companies has been recalled: Check the link in the previous answer and click on the manufacturers name and it will tell you the exact product. I'm not using anything from any of these companies, just to be safe.

Iams & Eukanuba DRY foods are safe. It is only the wet foil pouch and canned varieties that were manufactured and found to be tainted. Try Menufoods.com website for more information. I just checked through my local ABC station on the recall this morning and that is what I read.

Because one company is responsible for most of the famous brands of pet food, to play it safe, feed your dog human food. You could take the meat amd veggies, put them in a blender add a mult vitamin crushed and feed the dog.
With a cat, feed it fresh filet fish, ground with a crushed multi. Continue using human foods until the pet foods are safe again.

kibble food was never recalled & is still safe. Also the brands made by Ralston-Purina were not in the recall either.Skippy brand or Alpo for dogs, or Friskies 9 lives for cats.

My dog eats Verus Canine (not on the recall list, and highly recommended by my vet). Its available at most pet shops, and costs $11 for a 8 lb bag. When I first adopted him he had terrible dandruff, and within a couple of weeks of switching to this food his coat became really shiny, and no more dandruff!

I would think dry pet food should be okay. The news reported that only canned and moist pet food was harmful. My cat has been eating the dry stuff and she's doing fine.

I frequently recommend any of these brands of canned food. None of them are on the list, and they are among the very very best you can buy.

If you wish to continue feeding canned food, any of these will be great.
