There are lots of case studies stating no more then an hour due to the fact that after that time most of your muscles "glyocgen" aka fuel is depleted then your body may turn to using your Muscle as fuel instead since it has thte most caloric energy in reserve.

As long as you vary high intesntiy cardio and strength training you will achieve results effectivley with a good sound diet.

if training at a high level of intensity 1.5 hours is about the maximum for most with average test levels. after this point the levels of catabolic hormones start to increase drastically and remain elevated for hours, this of course effects fat loss for many hours after training and the ability for the muscles to begin the recovery process.

just like most things in life, quality beats quantity any day of the week.

The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient.
