i was tested swallowing a radiactive pill and then x-rayed my count was 1 point away from doubling my usual hormone production. is this cancer? and what can i do to help?

No, you are hyper-thyroid. I have had papillary thyroid cancer. they would do biopsies of the tumor first thing. Since they haven't done it, you simply have an over-active thyroid. they will give you meds that will help. If you ask for natural rather than synthetic you'll feel better. This is something you will need to discuss with your Dr. I do not believe it is cancer, however I could not tell you for certain. There is a condition that is called hyperthyroidism . It means when the body produces too much of the thyroid hormone. Thr Dr. will place you on medication to specifically treat your condition.

No its not cancer. It means your thyroid is over active...They will probably burn it out...One of the good side effects of it before they do that though is you shouldn't be overweight...Unlike those of us who find out ours doesn't work...
