Although you may feel different, you actually may want to wait until your body gets adjusted to the change, to see weather or not there is a positive or negative reaction. Also talk to your psychiatrist about how you feel on the medication. Either way don't quit taking it at all, let your doctor be the one to take you off of it.
I've experienced both "name brand" & "generic" forms of the drug. I noticed no changes of any kind, either in how I felt or in my overall behavior. Don't worry you'll be fine.

Sometimes the fillers used in the generics can have an affect on the body. Get some samples of the name brand stuff from your doc and see if you go back to normal.
Most insurance companies will cover a script written specifically for the brand name but it takes a "no generic" notation on a new script from the doc. You will likely have to pay a higher copay for the brand name. On my plan, generics are $10 but name brands are $25 or even $35 in a few cases.

generic prescriptions are made the same as the name brand prescriptions. They all work the same, the only difference is pricing.
What is the difference between a Brand-Name and Generic Drug?
A Brand-Name drug is marketed under a specific trade name by a pharmaceutical manufacturer. In most cases, Brand-Name drugs are still under patent protection, meaning the manufacturer is the sole source for the product. A generic drug is made with the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug. The generic drug is therapeutically equivalent to the brand name drug but is sold under its chemical or "generic" name.

Yes, unless you have a private insurance or pots of money you can buy the actual "inventor" of Wellbutrin. But your doctor changed to the generic name because it is pharmaceutically the same but much, much cheaper.
They work the same way, don't worry.

You're probably psyching yourself out. I started the generic a few weeks ago and haven't noticed any difference. It's the same chemicals, but the patent ran out so other companies can make it now.

Generics are made with the same ingredients as their more expensive counterpart. They just don't have a "label". It's like the difference between Tommy Hilfiger and Faded Glory (Wal-Mart brand).

No, I've been taking the generic for a couple of years with no problems. I hope you feel better soon. You should call your doc.
