Once the ends are brittle and dried out nothing will help but a trim. Once you've trimmed the ends use a good conditioner on the ends only.

I'm in the same situation and that's exactly what I do. The conditioner at the ends and not at the roots is the perfect solution, but you have to remember, hair is dead and damaged hair cannot be brought back to life. You will have to have the damaged part cut off. Then, if you maintain this treatment program in the future, you should probably be able to minimize the damage to the ends. My hair refused to grow an inch. It sat at my shoulders for five years. Then I cut off the damaged ends and did this conditioning treatment program and now in two years, it's almost to my waist. Oh! You also must cut way back on or eliminate completely all heat. That is, blow drying and straightening or curling irons, etc. These are what causes the damage to the ends of the hair.

only shampoo at the roots

it doesnt matter where you condition, that doesnt dry out the roots or anything, condition you entire head, especially the roots, because thats where the new hair has to grow out from, and you want that new hair to be soft

after you get out of the shower and your hair is freshly shampooed, rub a bit of oil on the tips of your hair, just about an inch or so

I put conditioner on all of the hair that is not touching my scalp. I have the same problem. Also use a shampoo that is for oily hair.

Very often hair becomes damaged which makes it very dry and brittle it can also make it frizzy. A good hair cut(trim off dead ends) can make a huge amount of difference

wash your scalp more often, but try not to get shampoo on the ends. then condition the ends only.
it will work better if you first wash the scalp.
i'd say every other day.

try using a serum or a non-frizz leve in conditioner try getting a expensive one because the expensive one should work it might take a while but it's worth it!!!!
