You know, I could live there as a permanent resident and be American, but while they allow dual citizenship, I'd have a hard time becoming a citizen of a country unless I were giving it my first loyalty. I don't think I can subdivide that way.

However, in the immigrant generation itself, I don't see that much of an issue. It is those who cling to a hyphen generations later that people speak to. However, most aren't trying to impose, but trying to welcome, I honestly believe.

Canadian since I would have had to give up my US citizenship to gain the Canadian citizenship.
