I have been asking God "Can you hear me now?" for about 5 years.

Time to move on and actually start the conversation. God has been waiting for you to start talking to Him for five years. He loves you. His Word is the Bible. Read it every day to develop a intimate relation with Him. Pray that He will speak to you through it. I'll be praying for you. You know, I have ups and downs in my relation too. Some times I feel like God has been farther and farther away from me. That is not the truth. I have gone farther and farther from Him. I'll be praying for you! :)

Did you ever stop to listen and see if he was answering or did you just move on and assume that he didn't answer?
God answers all prayers but we do not always stop to listen to the answers.
