..seems like any time he intervened in mans affairs, it is to judge them for punishment &/or the destruction of them. When did he ever do anything good to help a society for the betterment of all involved? Seems like anytime something good happened, it is because man himself done it, with no help at all from the god.
when did the god himself do any good for anyone, without destroying something or someone else in the process???

Yeah that kind of stuff confuses me also. I'm glad I didn't live in biblical times, but then again I don't put much stock in those so called holy books.

I can't speak for the Bible but I will speak only about the Quran
in the Quran the verses talking about the paradise always come before the verses talking about the hell or the punishment.
And if you believe that God exists, don't you think in creating us and the universe he did good without destroying someone else?

God has done plenty good including judging evil, healing, driving out demons, giving bread to eat, imparting wisdom, AND giving eternal salvation which is the gift that will keep on giving after our bodies and earth are all gone.

When did he do something to help a society? He led the jews out of egypt, He gave them the 10 commandments, He fed them manna from His own table, He provided water when there was none near by...for 40 years.
Jesus fed thousands of people who came to hear Him speak. He sacrificed Himself on a cross so nobody ever had to go to hell.
All man did durin those times was sin. Constantly. If breaking promises they said they would keep is a good thing, then man did good. Sadly, man NEVER kept their promise to God. you haven't seen His side of love!! haven't you noticed that all He has done is fully out of love..... and He is coming back soon to take HIs children home and to get rid of sin... now that sounds really evil because all the bad people will die but did you know that if He didn't we would kill each other out (not to mention global warming etc.)
