It just doesn't make any sence.

It seems that some black women have serious attitude problems.

Exactly what I was thinking! White people aren't all nice. They probably think that since I'm not "acting African-American Category" I must go in the "respectable caucasian" catagory.
Go figure!

It doesn't make sense at all, but I don't think it's a standard practise.
There could be pressure from within the ethnic group to act differently from Whites in order to preserve the culture, but there's shouldn't be positivity or negativity towards these differences.
I read a great Forbes articles about the "being white" comments. It's sad that achievement is often associated with being Whites, but it seems that the perception is created by the minorities. This is a great study: "The Achievement Gap" http://www.forbes.com/leadership/2007/02/25/economics-discrimination-education-lead_achieve07_cz_th_0301discrimination.html
There're nice people, mean people in all colours!

A good friend of mine in school had this problem. When she was nice to everyone and got good grades, she'd get labelled "white", accused of trying to be white. It was like she was only supposed to talk to other black students and get bad grades. She was strong, though, and did what she wanted. She got her medical degree at Harvard, and is successful and happy.
I'm not sure what the whole thing's about, or why some black people want to conform to negative stereotypes, even going so far as to try and make their peers do so as well. I hope you don't worry about it and just continue being yourself.

Its a little weird to me too. I generally like nice people. My skin may be "white" but I think that the idea of who I should be in terms of my attitudes because of what skin tone is, is bull s%it.

If you are kind, then just accept the understanding as being pure. And if you are kind, help others to be kind as well. Sometimes face to face, people have forgotten the lessons of kindness. And some people think only their own kind are kind, which is kind of crazy, kind of not. Since kindness ought to be contagious, lets see if it will spread.
If they ask what kind are you? Say just as kind as you. And if they say "kinder" you win the prize.

Yeah and when you do your homework too. You just have to learn to ignore the peer police, they want to control you by calling you names.
