Any luck with long term training? I've got a short haired tabby who is obviously hyper and persistent. He'll sometimes run right through the shock barrier. Also, as soon as I take the collar off he goes wherever he dam well pleases.

To those of you fools who dare insult responsible pet owners who actually TRY and spend good money to keep their cats and dogs inside and in line ... SCREW YOU. Also, you couldn't be more wrong about shock collars. They deliver very little pain. FYI. I have shock myself and my neck with it many times. It's a pinch. If anything they need to be stronger as animals naturally get used to these devices quickly.

if i hadn't used the remote animal humane safe
shock collar (oh the horror or the thought!)
on my dog at finally age 5 months,
i don't think he would be alive!!!

i'm all for human tested shock collars!
we tested it on my friend....and it didn't hurt him
(much)

I swear, it was the only way to train my pet not to run out the door and into the street.

I was all against them.
But now i'm all for them.

they are rated humane!!!!

You don't give much information about your cat, such as how old it is, or how long you've had it. I'm going to say this in nice terms....why in the world would you put a shock collar on a cat? Are you insane? No wonder the cat goes wherever he pleases when you take the collar off, he's trying to get away from you. I suggest you take him to a no-kill shelter and find him a new home. Not everyone should have a pet, and I think that includes you. If I had your address I'd turn you in.

Why do you feel the need to use this device on a cat? What is the cat doing wrong? I can't imagine. My cats are peaceful creatures who just wander through the house, playing quietly with toys, purring, cuddling on my lap, etc. Why would you need a shock collar?

If you are having that much of a problem with your cat, perhaps a cat isn't the right kind of pet for you. Have you considered finding a new home for your cat?

I hate even the thought of shock collars on cats. Whoever invented that torture contraption should have shock collar fitted around his neck.
You do know that there are many aother more himan methods and systems of keeping yu cat in your oen yard!

I hope your cat runs away and finds a better owner.

My problem w/ this is, ok, you tested it on yourself, right? But did you know that a cat has many more nerve endings than a human? Something to think about. Why not just keep them indoors? My cats love the screened in porch!
