No one knows the exact time of the end of the world.
We know it will be within the generation that saw Israel be reborn (1948/1967 one of those two years... of the rebirth... 1948 she became a statehood; 1967 she gained her capital back, Jerusalem). Therefore, we know not when the coming of the Lord will be.. it could be as I type this... or in the next 40 years or so.
A generation equals 40 years!!!
Just be ready!!!!!

According to the Vedas which precede all other scriptures and where the original "how too" books sent by God with the creation. 4,27,000 years is the distrusting of the whole cosmic creation. For more info go to harekrishnatemple.c read Bhagaavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. There may be a lot of bad in the world but their is also a lot of good and the end times people will be so degraded that they will all be eating each other and be under three feet tall and all look very ugly. There will be no rain at all and all the rivers and lakes dry. We can see we are not even close to that. These other dates are all speculation

there is not a date, in the Bible it says that no one knows the hour and date only the Father. It says it will sneak up to you like a thief in the night. Read Revelations. But the Christians will all be raptured up into heaven before God destroys it. Accept Jesus as your personal savior and then you will receive your ticket to heaven.

Well, put it this way, I'm taking bets that the world will end in 2012. Quite frankly most of that mayan calendar stuff is BS, and there's little to say the world really will end, completely and absolutely, in 2012.

~4.75 Billion years from now. Lots of people were counting on 2000; and many dates were thrown about during the 20th Century. There is only a natural end due to our dying star, or possibly due to human error (using the term widely).
