Most will say that they don't want other "religious" people to force their beliefs on them. Isn't that exactly what they are doing?

If you wish to speak out for tolerance, for plurality of opinions, for live and let live, for respectful discussion between people of different religious beliefs or of no belief, for not judging other people, against name calling and maliciousness, I am with you 100 %. Do you?

BTW, forgot to mention, I'm an atheist of course. And thanks for spelling atheist correctly.

Edit: derovious, a propos spelling, my mastery of English is not entirely flawless but could it be that you wanted to write "asinine" or something similar?

No. Atheists don't force their 'beliefs' upon people. You cannot equate faith based beliefs with those based on science. We don't have a problem with you believing that the earth is 6,000 years old. But- if you all band together and tell me that you will be teaching my children that in school- I hope you understand that we take issue with that... and we care.... a lot.

Most atheists on the surface will tell you to go ahead and use your freedom of religion. Deep down, theyre looking for ways to take it away so they can run this country their way. And theyre desperately trying to keep Christians away from politics in order to accomplish these goals. Theyve even go so far as to reunderstand the 1st amendment as "the govt must only be atheist."

Don't you get it? We're the balance to religious nonsense. We are the reason and logic you people are fools and idiots. If we Atheists didn't oppose you, the world will be engulfed in religion and humanity would drown in a sea of ignorance.

As long as religious people keep it to themselves, I'm cool with it. In fact, I even know people who are religious that talk about it in front of me, and usually I just keep my peace. And surely by answering your question, you won't think that I'm 'forcing my belief' on you.

I disagree with a lot of the views expressed by religion, particularly their discrimination against homosexuals. The conservative nature of religion, and its promenence in the state, discourages proper political advances. I think the sooner we let go of religion, the sooner we can move on and become a more understanding and advanced society.

I seriously do not care if someone is a believer. In fact I constantly defend catholics here because I feel like there is a lot of falsehood spread about what they believe.

I don't, really. In fact, I think religion provides strength and comfort for many believers. But it's absolutely true that I'm not interested in being told what to believe.

I don't care what you believe, the gloves come off, however, when I read completely assassine logic coming from one of your sheep.

These people are not immune to the "wrath" of me.

We like to keep religion out of government and schools for neutrality. This isn't the same as pushing atheism on other people. It is religious people who are pushing their religion on us.
