My Daughter who is 20 has been suffering from extreme fatigue for the last year had blood work done which showed her ebv level very high. All the other blood work was good. She also has a unexplained swollen lymph node which has been biopsied twice but comes inconculsive. She had mono when she was 5. What could be going on?

I think Mono is always in your system. I was 18 when I suffered a horrible bout. Fever, sore throat, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. I was out of school a month.

Yes I am aware they say you can never get mono twice!

When I was 20 I had the same thing (milder) but 100 F temp, tired, just not myself. Run down.. etc.

My doctor said epstein barr lays dormant inside a body effected with mono. It can happen on and off all your life.
Where you feel really tired and mild symptoms.

Let her rest. Increase her fluids, vitamins The second time I took two weeks off from my job and headed to a warmer climate it really helped.

I think now being a mom to 3 I have mono daily. Honestly though make sure she gets ample rest, eats well and takes vitamins. See someone else if your family doctor doesn't seem helpful!

sounds like her mono has returned. she probably has epstein barr. i would find a very good internest and take her there. take her out of school and make her rest. keep her away from young kids and crowds. stay away frrom sick people. give her lots of fluids and make sure she eat. supplement her with a multi Vit and give extra Vit C bc it helps with rebuilding and repairing in the body.
