So are overhead projectors, old sound systems, and 13" TV's. Who are you to say what is wrong or innapropriate for church or to set the standard by which we meet and worship and serve God? Do you not know that the tabernacle and temple were made with luxurious items of gold and silver?

I think you need to worry more about how rich YOU are towards God and not how much the church spends. With those multi-million dollar buildings they can hope to reach far more people than a church of 80 ever will.

You better believe it. The followers of these preacher "pimps" are looking for salvation. Instead they are being gangstered out of their loot. How else can these "mega" churches exist other than by the Tides given by those saps?

Wanna help the homeless? Go out and buy someone dinner. Wanna donate clothes? Take your old clothing and put them directly in a poor persons hands.

Want salvation? Read the scripture (whatever the religion) and do the deeds that help YOU lead a better life.

Cref Flow Dollar (AKA, Cash Flow Dollar)
PTL (Pay The Lady)
700 Club (foolishness masquerading as news and religious shows)

And plenty of others are nothing more than money funnels getting these Pimps rich.

There are pros and cons. When they are on TV more people find out about the gospel, but sometimes the reason they are mega-churches is because the sermon is likable and easygoing. Who knows if the people are truly worshipping God or are they looking for entertainment. In Acts the apostles started a church with thousands of people. It truly depends on the heart of the congregation. If the sole purpose of the church is the glorify and worship God then God is all for it. But if it is only for publicity and worldly reasons then they would all be a bunch of hypocrates. We are seeing too much of that today.

Jesus wouldn't have a problem with that. He would be happy with it since it can get the good news out to be by TV or radio or however it is. I don't know if you have heard of Charles Stanley but his church is a modern mega-church but still people can watch his sermons on TV and find out about God.

Jesus had a problem with church in the first place. He told people to pray in their closet. Matthew 6:5

the main problem he would have is the commercialization of the faith. I've been to megachurches and it's almost like a huge business that is always selling books, tapes, dvds, mugs, shirts, etc..etc.. I think He would go in there with a whip and flip over the tables of the moneychangers.

Yes. After having attended one for many years. I can say he would have a problem with it which is why we left.
Our mega church was supporting a mega tv budget, mega limos, mega bookstore, etc.

It is the easiest job in the world to be critical. Worship is for God. Mary was also scolded by Judas and Martha when she poured expensive stuff on Jesus' feet. I think Jesus is happy everywhere His job gets done. : )

Where you do think we get all this stuff from???? :-) I actually believe Jesus wants to see how far we can progress - I think He loves all this. Unfortunately with good comes bad - He won't like the bad - but He would definitely want to see us progess with Modern Technology is what I feel.
