To burn a DVD you need a DVD burner. Usually most computers come with a DVD player so you can watch movies. To burn a DVD, that disk drive must have that ability. CD format and DVD formats are very different. In order to burn movie files to DVD, you need movie editing software, like Nero, Adobe Premiere, Show Biz, there are many movie editing/DVD authoring programs. Hopefully your computer came bundled with one. You would load the movie files into the editing program, make your edits to the film, if you have any, and then tell it to burn it to a DVD. Once the DVD is made, your film clip will be in several pieces unrecognizable by Windows: It will be in DVD format so that your DVD player can play it.

An easy way to burn DVD files to a dvd is to use nero, if you have the plugin that is. Another useful program is called DVD Shrink. If it is an AVI, or mpeg and so on, which it usually is, you need a convertor, a good one is: AVI Video Convertor. You can get it at www.download.com
Also, don't download programs off of limewire because most all of them have nasty little virus' in them.

get 'nero vision express', you can then open avi/mpeg files and have them transcoded into dvd format and burn to a dvd, or you can make a video cd for files which are under 700mb which will work in most newish dvd players, but not all
