To be honest, and this comes from experience wait on getting married to her. The reason I say this because of your dependants you would be D Q'd. If you really wanted to go Active Duty instead of reserves that is. Joining the military esp the Marines would really help out your family. All the benefits. Plus with a child they will make you do a Family Care Package. Speak with a Recruiter more about it, because from the Marine recruiters I know (very well) you would have to sign over custody of your child while you serve. There is so much but if your family is worth it then I would say dig deeper and make your Recruiter give you the facts! Good luck with your decision!

well if you want to be with your family reserves is the best option other wise that much moving for a family can be a hassle. if you want you can become an officer, go to either ocs after enlisting or attend a four year university that offers ROTC for the marines at the end of your fourth year you will be commissioned as an officer the pay and benefits are alot better but the responsibility is also much higher.

Too young with too many chillens, Your pay will not support four kids.
I joined the AF at the age of 16 while a senior in HS. Turned 17 just prior to basic training. However I was single and only had to support me. Your girlfriend has raped a 16 year old boy. If you have a child you were most likely 16 when she became pregnant. That is against the law, you know. She is within the space where the label "Child molester" applies to most people. I strongly suggest you don't enlist in the Marine Corps, It would be too difficult for both you and your gf. also your kid and her kids.
Anyway, she would most likely cheat on you while you are away. You should dump this woman, for your own good.
Difficult to tell you this but you my young friend have taken on a heavy load in life. Don't add to it.

I would try to find another alternative to serving in the Marines. You have a lot of responsibility at home, and if something were to happen to you, it would be hell for your family and children. My brother was in the Marines for 4 years and took 2 tours to Iraq. He came back just fine, but for each of the 7 months he was away, it was hell. HELL. Just think about what you will be doing to your family. There are other options. Don't jump into it- you are only 17. How about college?

In my state age of consent is 16 dude above me(that means he was NOT molested)
Anyway, get away from the 29 year old and the kids. They are obviously holding you back and she can't really say anything if you walk out the door. Relax about knowing everything; getting punished for what you don't know is part of training and you will be fine by just getting in shape.

With all the kids and a wife I would say go Air Force. Their treatment of family members is better. The housing is nicer(in some places twice as large as USMC housing), family member programs are better. In general, if you have a family I would say go AF. I'm an AF wife and I've seen a Marine base. The houses looked like rundown double wide trailers. The nicer stuff was about 600 square feet. My house is crap for AF housing and it's 1250 sq. feet. Also unless you go in to be a cop you won't deploy as often with the AF.It's just up to you.

You might want to look over the information here:
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/marinetrng/Marine_Corps_Education_Training.htm
see if you can find other information over the internet. There are probly alot of good resources to help.
God bless you for wanting to go. Being in the military is a great responcibility. Unfortunatly, I couldn't go because I'm disabled, but I'm an "army brat" and alot of my family have served in the army and navy.
