It looked like she was caring for them and feeding them ok, but then i don't know what happened. I check up on the kittens and her and found one dead and I don't know if she smothered it because she acted like it because when she knows she did something bad she'll run or move her ears, just things that she does when she's been bad. Now today I found another one dead. Now there's only 1 left and I don't know whether i should take care of it ourselves and buy all the necessary things. but it's just weird because when the first one died she didn't really abandon her kittens she still was feeding them so i don't know if she killed them. What could it be??? I mean they died the same way, with their mouths open like if they had milk on it or something

There may have been something wrong with the kitten, Mother cats tend to know this and it might not have been immediately apparent. Make sure she's in a quiet place away from people who are moving around too much, if there's too much activity or too many people looking at or handling the kittens, she might not like it. Handling them in the first two weeks can change their scent and the Mom won't recognise them as her own.

Mom could be ill, this may explain the ears and running away and may also explain why she doesn't want the kittens. She kills one to give herself a better chance to fight off her illness, if it doesn't work, she kills another one....

Sometimes nature appears cruel, the kittens may look perfect but there may be something at play that you can't see.

I would recommend taking them to the vet for their advice and to ensure that the Mom cat doesn't have an infection from having the kittens or a disease from mating.

I would take them all to the vet immediately - including the any dead ones that you still have. The vet may be able to tell why the kittens died and can tell how the last kitten is doing and whether or not the mother is caring for it or if you should take over its care.

There is a possibility that she smothered them but also make sure that the area they are in is warm enough. New born kittens have to be kept warm. I hope the rest are ok. Good luck.

if this is your cats first litter; sometimes the litter will not make it...maybe she was too young. also the kittens could have been born with a congenital birth defect....heart problems, cleft palatte, there is so many things that it could have been. its hard to have to bury the babies..and hard to understand why this happens. my dog had pups and i had to bury 3 of them. good luck ...
