If i bought a dog with my own money...?

Ad i am only 13 should i keep it my mom said yes and ihavent named it yet please i need names and advice.

Puppygirl, it is your dog. You can name it what ever you want. Name it after something you like. For example, I am from North Dakota. I really liked living there. So I have named my last two dogs after that state. Ones name is Daks, and the others name was Kota. Or name her after a physical trait of the dog. Like if she is black with white feet call her Socks.

Remember that having a puppy requires lots of responsiblity. They rely on you for food, water, exercise and love. Everyday.

First of all, make sure you are prepared for the dog. Just because you have money for the dog, do you have money for Neutering/Spaying, shots, deworming, emergency vet visits, checkups, toys, food etc.

Dogs are a lot of money, make sure you have worked out who will be paying for that. You or your mother.

A great way to get a dog that is already fixed, had it's shots and is healthy, is to go to a local animal shelter. You will be paying about 1/10 of the price from a breeder or pet store and you will be a hero. They will let you meet all the dogs and take any out for walks that you are interested in.

I reccomend feeding your dog either Royal Canin or Nutro. They are the best quality and will keep your dog healthy. Your dog will also be less likely to become overweight.

As for names:
Girls: Melody, Misty, Tara, Jazz, Kona, Sasha
Boys: Toby, Jack, Grover

if your mom said yes and you are 13 then your mom is responsible for it so she says yes. We can't give you names without knowing if it is Boy or girl and a little about it. like is it a Pedro or butch or penny or big molly. for advice
puppy proof your home. make sure all electric wires are hidden or not plugged in and puppies like to chew. they can electrocute themselves. I know of 2 cases personal. pick up all small objects it can swallow. any poisons should be kept locked up. basically the same as baby proofing. get down on the floor and see what your dog can see. and remember they are going to go for it. congradulatioins. and don't forget your vet visits if you have not scheduled them find your vet and ask when they need there shots and scheduale them. should be within 4 weeks.

Um.. if you have it, keep it, if you don't, wait until you are POSSITIVE that you are ready for the responsibility.

We have four cats. My mom's, my bros, my sister's, and mine. e're all s'posed to take care of our cat, but mom winds up feeding all of them. It's not an issue, seeing as they all eatout of three communal dishes, but parents get annoyed when their kid asks for a pet but dissapears when it's time to feed or clean up after them. *btw, so i don't look that bad, i take FULL reponsobility for my dog, and the cat that is mine is leaving with me when I move out*
