My Girls have something similar to a. We have 4 weeks summer, 2 weeks fall, 2 weeks Christmas THEN 2 weeks (1st 2 weeks Feb) Ski vacation, 2 weeks spring. Problem is that the child can never get on a roll because every 6 weeks or so another vacation comes around. Don't forget the legal Holidays inbetween. The GOOD thing is that they stay optimistic that they know they will have another break but that is only good if you have a Child that REALLY applies themselves to their work. I have 2 that do and an older Daughter that just waits on the next break, needless to say she dosen't do well in School.
It works well for some, and ruins others. *A* is hard with such a long summer break that you forget whatever you learned.

No, I don't think we should. I think we should extend school days to get rid of homework, and keep the traditional calender with a longer summer vacation.
