Is is part of known statistics that Americans spend the least time with their families. In a country that is founded on the Word of God and on Christian principles, it seems to be that we are just too busy to dedicate time to the aspects that really matter. Why is this happening? Why is it that the gaps between the generations have broadened? Who will bulid a bridge? The family is the center of the church and it is under heavy artillery, the enemy is not resting until he destroys families [ie: divorce, abortion, diseases, psychological conditions, you name it he's using it] Why?

This was a topic given to me by one of my english professors. We were asked to read this aloud to others and see what their proposal was. Unfortunatly I did leave out a few details that I thought were unneccesary. Apparently some people got the wrong idea about what I was trying to convey, and I apologize.
The "he" i regard to is the enemy at work. I did not make that clear. It was more a question of a case to construct instead of a bash against what I put forth.

Because the moral mind set has changed along with women wanting to work and business being open 7 days a week for that almighty dollar.Years ago...Saturday was for rest and family and Sunday was for god and family...Now you get fired if you want to have a family...Cant make money that way.Parents cant afford $60.00 jeans and $120.00 shoes unless they work 2 jobs and what about that PS2? Game boy or Laptop? What IS supper with the family? I herd about it once. Our wants exceed our Priorities...Take away greed, throw away the games & computers, give back the 5 day work week and have family dinners every night. Get involved before its to late...Or is it already?
Yes Wyrmfell, this country was founded on God. He created it..And good values shouldn't have to be forced on anyone..They should just be there....When every thing in life goes wrong --- you turn to family...They shouldnt have been turned away from , from the start.

Family Values don't change, it is the means by which they are achieved that do.
And actually, if you will stop for a minute, it is partly the fault of the church's insistence upon holding the sacrament of marriage holy unto itself (rather than unto the participation (or not) of the people involved) that brought about the great influx of divorces. People who had been forced to stay in a marriage that never should have been, and who suddenly had a way out, took it, which disrupted and dispirited the idea within succeeding generations, who grew up in households arc welded together under that burden.
In other words, the reason why divorce is so prevalent now is because the policies of the church. As such, when the church reached a crisis point where it could no longer ignore what was happening, it adapted as was necessary, and like a flood of investors suddenly selling off their stock, a panic ensued. Because of the personal back-lash of those who grew up in dysfunctional households because of the 'sanctity' of marriage, what honestly do you expect their feelings, attitudes, and actions towards marriage are going to be?
Holding a ceremony (or idea) sacred above the actual people upon whom it depends is a receipe for disaster. Holding the idea of 'family values' sacred over the specific individuals upon whom that concept applies (whether or not they constitute a 'good' family or not) sows the very seeds of disillusionment and disunion that you so carefully and selectively see.
The kingdom of god is not presided over by bishops or priests, or those who place their power in such. It is found when one individual (believer or not) puts idea into action.
You see an 'enemy', and wage war.
Who sees an opportunity, and brings healing?

This country was not founded on the Word of God and Christian principles. It was founded on the ideas of freedom and democracy, ideas which were around way before Christ was ever born. It is natural for family values in life to shift. Look at back in the 50's when kids were punished for hanging out with African Americans. Yes, some change is bad, like the increased meth use and more sex in the media, but good things come with it too. You have to realize that Christianity isn't the only religion in the world, and that different people have different values. Try to force those values on others, and you're no better than Osama Bin Laden.

i think of a few people who've a ought to hate and choose choose to create a synthetic definition of relatives values and impose them. actual relatives values are especially plenty undying: care and problem for those closest to us, no remember if by making use of beginning, adoption or dedicated courting. help for those we adore, even whilst they disappoint us, forgiveness, healing and honesty are the actual relatives values. whilst i became starting to be up relatives values remvolved around being concerned, having ethics and believing in justice. those do no longer rather replace. What I do see is people who've an concept of what they think of a relatives could be whp translate it into being what a relatives must be, no remember who this hurts, be it a single determine relatives, a childless couple, a same-intercourse headed relatives. Hate isn't and has on no account been a valid relatives value and a few who bandy that element era around do so greater often than not to justify their own biases or perhaps outright bigotry. Love, understand, honesty, and justice will continually persist with, and this suggests in our households of beginning, our households of decision and society as an entire.

The gap isn't big enough that love can't close it. Unfortunatly the younger generation often feels they aren't good enough in the older generations eyes and need to just be themselves so they give up trying to close the gap and concentrate on other things.

Certainly not you, with this talk. When you use the pronoun 'he' without context as you do, then I have to assume that you are complaining that god is destroying families. Either it is your god or it is you. Surely, you recognize that much.

the more technology... the further families get... imagine no computers, only 4 channels instead of 400, no video games, no fast food, one income, rather than two working parents... all of these things have pulled families apart... and religion doesnt not seem to fit anywhere...its to much of an inconvience... and that is really sad.
