I would like to have lasik eye surgery and notice that there is quite a difference in prices at different eye clinics. I need to know if the eye clinics in the larger cities and their doctors are actually good in this eye treatment. I don't want to risk my eyesight, just to save money. I am all about saving money and I don't mind the travel. I just need to check out the doctor's qualifications. Thank you

In general, higher prices are for a reason -- I would suggest asking at local eyeglass shops, because they tend to recommend certain clinics and doctors that they personally have had perform their own procedures

Haai,
Its perfect that you are considering a lot of things before you are opting for LASIK. This is your eye sight and you have to get the best.

Here are my suggestions:
1) LASIK is a machine oriented procedure, there fore check the machine if its the latest technology. Newer the machine more latest would be the technology. Zyoptix Z-100 by bausch and lomb is the latest and best technology available im many places.
2) The experience of the surgeon doesent really matter , becuase lasik is 95% done by the machine and surgeon is just a person who controls the machine.
3) If you want to have a cost effective lasik, you can consider having it in countries like India, which have the same Zyoptix machine and perform the procedure at one fifht the cost. Lasik costs around 1000$ in India.

I am an Ophthalmologist and Laser surgeon from India
