I'm looking for a good freeware (no hacked or cracked or shareware!) software that is somewhat similar to Adobe Photoshop. I mainly need a program that will let me insert an image into another one and allow me to edit the images that they appear seamless.

The Gimp (Open Source)
http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

For the gimp to work you need to have the GTK+ Runtime environment installed. Check the FAQ at the link above.

Paint .Net (I prefer this to the gimp)

For Paint .Net you need to have the .Net framework installed,, there are details at the website.

Yes the gimp which can be found here http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html is free (open source) and very powerful. It's not easy to learn, but if you know Photoshop you should pick up on it quick. An easier but less powerful alternative is Paint.net which can be found here

Please do not ignore that Photoshop is a Proffesional layout and modifying software it extremely is in the $a million,000 dollar variety. There aren't any courses that are even close to to it that are free. that contains Gimp, Jasc, Paintshop, and fifteen or twenty others.
